Larry Bigbie

Baseball, Softball Hitting

Larry began playing baseball at the age of 6.  After a standout career at Ball State University, Bigbie ​was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 1st round (21st pick overall) of the 1999 MLB amateur draft. He played over four years (2001-2005) for the Orioles before being traded during the 2005 season to the Colorado Rockies.​

Larry played the remainder of the 2005 season for the Rockies.  On December 8, 2005, Larry was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals where he was part of the 2006 World Series Champion team.  Larry signed on to play 2007 with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves.  In the 2008 season he played in Japan for the Yokohama Bay Stars in the Japanese Central League.​

Larry has settled down on the Maryland Eastern Shore with wife Lauren and two daughters Madison and Makenley.  Larry now begins the next chapter of his Bio by opening Shore Performance.  He looks forward to passing on his knowledge to the countless baseball and softball talent Maryland’s Eastern Shore has to offer.

Mark Barrett

Baseball Pitching

Mark Barrett graduated from Bowie High School in 1989 where he was a starting varsity pitcher for three years.  He continued on to pitch two years at community college before transferring to the University of Maryland in the ACC for his junior and senior season.  After college he was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 42nd round of the 1994 draft.  Mark played two seasons in the minor leagues first in the Northwest League with the Spokane Indians than finishing up in the California League with the Rancho Cucamunga Quakes.  Mark now resides here in Centreville with his wife and two children.

Brenda Wingate

Softball Pitching

Brenda started playing travel softball at age 8.  She graduated from Liberty High School where she was a four year Varsity starting pitcher. During high school Brenda was named to the All County team, All Conference team and Player of the Week.  In her junior and senior year she recorded over one hundred   strikeouts per season.  After high school she went on to play for Catonsville Community College as a Pitcher and 3rd Baseman.   While at Catonsville the team earned a spot at the NJCAA playoffs.

For the past 5 years Brenda has been coaching local softball teams and serving as the pitching/fielding instructor.  Brenda has coached and trained girls ranging in ages from 10U and up.  Most recently Brenda helped coach a 14U softball team to a Softball Nation’s National 14U Championship. 

​

Brenda is looking forward to giving instruction at BSP to further the development of girls softball in the area.

Cailean Leith

Baseball Pitching

Cailean has been involved in baseball as a player and coach for over 35 years. He grew up playing travel ball with the Columbia Reds in the highly competitive Baltimore Metro League, was a 3-year starting pitcher at Howard High School, and pitched for 4 years at D-3 St. Mary's College of Maryland, which remains one of the most successful 4-year stretches in school history. During his college years, Cailean was invited to travel to Europe on a tour representing Team USA.

As a coach, Cailean has coached at the college, high school and youth levels, and currently is the Head Coach for the BSP 2024 Showcase Team Green, as well as a coach for UQA Little League. Cailean's goal as a Pitching Instructor is to teach proper mechanics and fundamentals to develop a solid base for on-field success and to promote arm health and longevity, while teaching basic pitching strategy to develop baseball IQ.

Leah Bradley

Softball Pitching

Leah started playing softball at the age of 5 for Queen Anne’s rec league. Following at the age of 8 she moved onto travel softball for the Shore Attitude Organization. She finished her travel ball career with 18u Rock Gold located in New Jersey where she had the opportunity to travel all over the U.S. playing high level softball. Leah also attended Queen Anne’s County High School as a 4 year varsity starter. She helped make program history in 2018 as sectional champs and led the team to a regional appearance.

After high school, Leah went on to play NCAA Division ll softball for Georgian Court University, located in Lakewood, NJ. During her freshman year the GCU Lions were ranked 17th in the nation among D2 programs. Leah’s love for softball has brought her back home to Queen Anne’s where she hopes to help teach aspiring pitchers of all ages.

Lee Collison

Baseball, Softball Catching and Fielding

Lee graduated from Queen Anne's County High School, served in the United States Marine Corps and has been a player/coach for 35+ years in the game of baseball and softball.  He is currently an Assistant Coach at Chesapeake College Skipjacks.  His passion is as a catcher!  He is always working on how to analyze and breakdown on the field then teach and pass along proper knowledge to players.  The last 10+ years he has been either a head coach or assistant coach at the travel/showcase, high school and collegiate levels.  He serves as a specialist coach for rec/travel/showcase organizations and provides individualized lessons for catching and fielding.
